Herbie Hancock Who Wins at the Grammys

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Who exactly is Herbie Hancock, the 67-year-old jazz pianist who was the biggest surprise winner (and nominee) at the Grammys? He won despite his Joni Mitchell tribute album, “River: The Joni Letters,” neither being a financial success a critically acclaimed.

Herbie Hancock’s win is right up there with Steely Dan’s 2001 best album win over Eminem, Beck and Radiohead or Jethro Tull’s 1989 win over Metallica for best hard rock or metal performance.

What will next year bring? Alvin and the Chipmunks winning best album?

Elvis Has Left the Building

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

Bill Beeny, the 81-year-old owner of The Elvis is Alive Museum, has finally decided to shut the doors to his museum in Wright City, Missouri. Beeny is also the writer of the book, “DNA Proves Elvis Is Alive” that he sells on his web site. Beeny had claimed to have documented proof Elvis is alive including Elvis’ DNA which did not match that of the cadaver reported to be Elvis.

Beeny is now closing the museum to put his energy into serving the needy in his local area. Beeney say he’ll miss Elvis, but life has its changes and sometimes you have to let go. Sadly, it took him 30 years to figure that out.

Pamela Andersons Other Two Boobs Duke it Out

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Pamela Anderson’s former boyfriends, Kid Rock and Tommy Lee, brought a stop to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday when they begun fighting during the show. It appears that Tommy Lee started the fight but Kid Rock was the only one of the two that threw a punch.

According to the Associated Press, Tommy Lee was antagonizing Kid Rock who was sitting two tables away and when Kid Rock ignored him, Tommy Lee stood up and begun challenging Kid Rock. Kid Rock then backhanded Tommy Lee and hit Tommy Lee once more before security put Tommy Lee into a headlock and pulled him away.

There was no confirmation of what started the brawl, but some are speculating it may be a result of Tommy Lee’s 5 minutes of fame running out.
