Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Yahoo users will soon get the green light to upload videos and music clips containing content belonging to Sony BMG Music Entertainment. In exchange, Sony will receive a portion of advertising revenue generated.

This is the first such deal for Yahoo Video, while Google already has distribution deals with all four major labels, including Sony. Although YouTube (owned by Google) remains the largest video sharing site, Yahoo Video is now second, and looking to make deals to compete with YouTube.

What the competition means for music fans is still up for debate; but so far it looks like it will mean more access to more music while the portals pay the bills.

Most Annoying Songs Update - Add Chocolate Rain

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

We seemed to have release our list of the Most Annoying songs ever a few weeks too soon. The OnlineMusicBlog.com staff have unanimously agreed to revise our list making “Chocolate Rain” the most annoying song of all time. The song is sung by Tay Zonday, a nerdier version of Steve Urkel with a voice more suited for Darth Vader than someone who looks no older than 15. The song repeats the same chord over and over until you want to die. If you enjoy mind numbing torture, then check out the video here.
